No I never did, but I have it on good authority from a friend that the fruity smelling soaps definately don't taste as good as they smell lol

Wash your mouth out with soap
by keyser soze indid anyone ever have this done to them, literally?
i thought it was only a figure of speech, until my mother did it to me for real.
i think i was about 10 at the most, and i said the word "piss", which to my mother was the equvalent of the f-word.

I lived in a rural area, and there weren't many my age, so we'd always get together on a Saturday morning and make sure we worked together. There was a resturant out on the hwy called Teddy Bear or Teddys - something like that, in an old house. We had to drive to get there (it was rural territory, you drove everywhere lol), and they weren't the fastest servers, so it was a good way to use up our time. We'd always take our break there so Gordon could get his French Fries and gravy lol. So Gordon, Adrian, Michelle, and Michael, if you are reading this, you know who I am lol.

I had a request for the home made granola, so thought I'd post it here for any others that were interested.
3 cups rolled oats (I use old fashioned, not instant)
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup cashews
3/4 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup + 2tbsp dark brown sugar
1/4 cup + 2tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 250F
In a large bowl combine oats, nuts, coconut and brown sugar.
In another bowl combine maple syrup, oil and salt. Combine both mixtures and pour onto 2 sheet pans. Cook for 1 hr 15 min, stirring every 15 min. Remove from oven and add raisins.
I have never used the cashews - just a bit too rich for breakfast for me. You can use any nuts you like or any dried fruit, such as currants, dried blueberries, cherries, cranberries - whatever strikes your fancy. I also add cinnamon because I LOVE cinnamon! lol

Did You Ever "Rat" Anyone Out To The Elders?
by minimus inafter you told on someone, did you feel like a snitch?

No, I never did. My younger brother and I knew our father was smoking, and went to our mother about it. She of course denied it. My brother went to our father about it, not a pretty scene. When talking to my mother about this recently, and how hard it was for us as kids knowing he smoked and listening to the talks at the KH about "secret sins" etc, you know what she said???
"If it bothered you that much, why didn't you go to the elders?" WTF?? She thought it was perfectly acceptable for two kids to report their father to the elders for smoking, knowing what would happen if we did. No wonder we were so f*cked up.

mmmmmmm bacon~ lol the best way to cook bacon is in the oven. This works really well when I'm having a big brunch, cooks alot of bacon all at once and you don't have to fuss with it on the stove.
I love a fresh fruit salad for breakfast, whatever fruit is in season and that you like best, with some maple syrup drizzled on top. Serve with yogurt and home made granola.

Ironing (Pressing) Clothes ... Do You?
by compound complex ingreetings, ironers hard-pressed,.
i'm pressing a white linen jacket in preparation for a wedding this weekend.
it got me to thinking about a topic little (if ever) discussed in polite society, such as yours.. do you do drip-dry?.

If the wrinkles don't come out in the dryer, I'll pull out the iron. I do love fresh crisply ironed pillowcases though .

To be a happy poster...
by CoonDawg inrecenty there have been some threads about how some seem to be abusive and some may be overly sensitive.
i think that it's best that we all keep in mind the difference in posters.
no, not just that they are individuals or that they come from different locales, but that though we share a common experience, each of us is at a different place in our exit.
